Superintendent - Mr. Steve Alexander

Khartoum American School is first and foremost a community school, and this is reflected in our school mission. We make special note of our exceptional inquiry based curriculum which caters to all of the needs of our learners, our sense of community and the values which we believe help us to shape our students into global citizens and the concept of citizenship itself and the skills necessary in becoming outstanding members of society.

Here at KAS we place our students’ learning and welfare above all else and it is this student-centered focus that drives our academic programs and allows us to develop quality educational courses that provide meaningful educational and life experiences for all of our students. By treating our students as individuals we are able to identify strengths and weaknesses and design programs that help them reach both their goals and their potential, while also preparing them for life after KAS.

I am pleased to be serving as the Superintendent of the Khartoum American School. It is my goal to provide leadership and work collaboratively with constituents to keep KAS moving forward as a dynamic international school providing a high quality education in a vibrant family community.

I have spent over 30 years as a teacher, administrator and coach in nine different schools, two in the United States and seven internationally. I have been the Director of three other international schools in Ukraine, Laos, and China prior to arriving in Khartoum. I have three grown children who are living and working in the United States.

KAS has earned an excellent reputation that is supported by our accreditation with the Middle States Association in the United States and the Council of International Schools in the United Kingdom.
