Curriculum

At Khartoum American School, the Early Childhood Department bases their instruction on The Creative Curriculum® program. This program utilizes the most current research and professional literature in the field of early childhood education.

The Creative Curriculum® is based on five fundamental principles. They guide practice and help us understand the reasons for intentionally setting up and operating early childhood programs in particular ways.

These are the principles:

foundation for successful learning.

  • · Social-emotional competence is a significant factor in school success.
  • · Constructive and purposeful play support essential learning.
  • · The physical environment affects the type and quality of learning

interactions.

A tenth area, ESL (English as a second language) follows a child’s progress in acquiring both receptive and expressive language in English.
